Trust Board Update - 13 December 2024
Apologies that it’s been a while since we gave an update on Trust-related things, so this is a bit of a bumper edition.
We had intended to send this update out at the end of November, however due to issues with our website access we were unable to do so. As such, this message has some further updates on matters which were included in the November update which some members may have received.
We’ll still try to keep this brief but if there’s anything you want more info on please do get in touch via the usual routes including by email to info@ncafctrust.org, on our social media pages, in the marquee on match days or at the AGM.
Supporters’ Trust Annual General Meeting (AGM)
Regrettably, we had to postpone our AGM which had been scheduled for 12th December due to issues with our website access.
The access has now been restored and following advice from the Football Supporters' Association our AGM will be rescheduled at a convenient time in early 2025.
In line with the Rules of the Society, appropriate notice will be given to all members by email.
Membership of the Trust Board
Tony Jermyn (Secretary) has regrettably felt it necessary to tender his resignation from the Board because of ill health. We are extremely grateful to Tony for all the effort and expertise he brought to the Trust Board since being elected in June and of course wish him a full and speedy recovery. Mike Everett has kindly agreed to take on the role of Secretary going forwards.
Relationship with the Football Club
We continue to have regular formal and informal discussions with Huw Jenkins as majority shareholder on all manner of topics relating to the running of the Football Club. Most recently these have included match day experience at Rodney Parade, ticket pricing, the Club accounts for the 23/24 season which were published on 11 November here, the FAW proposal for the 4 Welsh EFL clubs to potentially qualify for UEFA European competitions via a Welsh League Cup, training and Academy facilities, and finalisation of the Rodney Parade lease.
1912 Exiles Podcast
For those who may have missed our recent social media updates, Arnie and Nic recently appeared on the 1912 Exiles podcast discussing the work of the Trust. A big thanks to Rhys and Ed for having us! You can listen to the podcast via the link here, or wherever you usually get your podcasts.
Membership renewal problems
We are aware that some members have experienced difficulties with the GoCardless payment system when renewing or upgrading their membership. We are working to resolve this including considering changing to a different electronic payment service provider. In the meantime, if you experience any problems renewing or upgrading (or become aware of someone else having problems) please email us at info@ncafctrust.org so that we can get it sorted.
Volunteering
As always, if you feel you can offer any time and skills to either the Football Club or the Trust, please let us know. The Football Club is still on the lookout for an Equality, Diversity and Inclusion (EDI) lead and volunteers on match days are always welcome. Many hands do indeed make light work! We are also on the lookout for new fundraising ideas so if you have any suggestions, again please let us know.
Very best wishes,
Arnie, Kev, Dug, Nic, Mike and Jayne
